Vegan Fried Tofu


As soon as my daughter sees I am making these she screams,” TOFU!!!!” then she must confirm she can have peanut sauce with it!

I am sure you can guess we never have any left over. I hope you enjoy these as much!

Vegan Fried Tofu

e.g. These muffins have a crunchy top with a crumbly inside where you taste the subtle hint of lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1 Block extra firm tofu (cubed)
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 Cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup yeast flakes
  • 2 Cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Step 1
Throw the flour, yeast flakes and cornmeal in a plastic bag.
Step 2
Give it a little shake, then add the cubed tofu and shake it around till the tofu looks covered. Remove the tofu from the bag.
Step 3
Grab a saucepan and pour in the oil, garlic and salt. Once the garlic is fragrant, then toss in the tofu. Fry every side of the cubes till they are light golden brown.
Step 4
Place some Paper towel on your counter. Scoop up the tofu and lay on the towels. Serve with some peanut sauce or plum sauce to dip in. Enjoy!
