Morning at the 7th Street Market
One of the sweet spots in Charlotte, NC
It is a place filled with a food court that serves mainly local grown ingredients. The 7th Street Public Market stands on the principles of sustainability and truly reflects the City of Charlotte’s direction to be a “Green City”. Live in Charlotte? Visiting? This place is a must see. There is also a small local farmers market as well as a variety of little shops that sell locally grown and made products.
Here is their mission and they truly are accomplishing it:
The 7th Street Public Market provides high-quality, fresh, and affordable food from local farms and regional purveyors. It is the anchor of a dynamic market district that serves as an authentic community gathering place.
- Celebrates and promotes the diverse regional food culture of the Carolinas
- Supports local and regional farmers and food artisans as well as the regional network of markets
- Serves as an incubator for food-related businesses, and
- Helps mitigate food deserts in surrounding neighborhoods addressing access, health and food education and costs.
I was there for one of my green groups I am active in, but while I was there I had to stop at my favorite juice bar, Viva Raw.
