Black Cumin Seed Oil and Its Benefits

Nigella sativa or Black cumin with essential oil over white background

It’s safe to say that Black Cumin Seed Oil is a substance that is hardly known in the United States. Cumin? That’s much more well known, but only because we like to cook and eat Mexican food. But Black Cumin Seed is a seed that, although it’s been used in other parts of the world like the Mediterranean, the Middle East and India for over 3300 years, is largely unknown in America. Called ‘Seed of Blessing’ in the Middle East, it’s also called Nigella Sativa. The following information about this seed and its oil proves that ‘Seed of Blessing’ is very appropriate.

Black Cumin Seeds were found in King Tut’s tomb for use in the afterlife. Cleopatra used them as a beauty treatment. Queen Nefertiti used the oil for her hair and nails.

Part of the buttercup family, black cumin seeds are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-bacterial. They help in the production of natural interferon, which is a protein that causes cells to increase their defenses. They help relieve headaches, skin irritations and more serious things. Hippocrates used it in the cure for digestive and metabolic disorders. Because it’s been used for thousand of years, it’s a given that it’s been used by Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners.

Black Cumin Seed Oil helps inhibit tumor growth by up to 50%, increases healthy bone marrow cell growth by 250%! BCSO protects against damage from chemo and radiation, deactivates and kills certain cancer cells. It has a high content of phytosterols, which helps the natural production of hormones, vitamin D and bile acid. It aids in prevention of endocrine disorders, immune deficiency, and cardiovascular disease, which proves that it is a superfood…a powerhouse of nutrition.

One of its active ingredients is Thymoquinone, which is a phytochemical that helps with controlling seizures such as with epilepsy (anti convulsant). It also acts as an antioxidant and analgesic

The oil is the best way to take this, as a supplement or in the treatment of conditions, because it’s the most concentrated that way and also easiest for the body to assimilate. And with most supplements, consistency is key in getting the most effective results.

You can do more research into this, to find a longer list of the conditions it helps cure, and benefit, but in addition to cancer and cardiovascular conditions, here’s a short list:

Hair Growth and premature graying

High Blood Pressure

Parasites, including Candida

Varicose Veins

Circulatory problems

There’s a ton of other benefits. If something has been used for thousands of years with success, it’s safe to say that Black Cumin Seed Oil is something that should be known about and taught to the masses in the United States, as well as the whole world, and implemented. Give ‘Seed of Blessing’ a consistent try!

Renee Rubio
About me

Renee Rubio is passionate about health in all aspects. She's been keenly aware of the fact that it's not just about food and exercise, for most of her life. She wants to help teach others that there are other parts to the whole, of being healthy (and thus, knowing the true nature of happiness!). Growing up the child of an alcoholic, she knew from the beginning that substance abuse is a dead end street. As she grew older and worked through her emotional issues, growing spiritually, and dealing with weight issues (tied into her emotional issues), she finally discovered raw foods and the benefits of that type of eating. Deciding to change her diet to plant based first, in 2009, she transitioned to raw living foods in 2010. At times, she's been 100 percent raw, she's done several fasts, and adopted many of the lifestyle aspects of a raw, vegan foodist, and continues with it. She has never been healthier or happier in her life and has finally found the key to the foods that her body responds best to. She knows that she still has some ways to go, on her journey, and continues onward and upward. Her current focus is on learning more about hormones and parasite cleansing. She lives in Nevada with her soul mate and her Australian Cattle Dog fur baby. She loves being of service. One of her favorite activities is to coach others. She believes she is a natural born supporter and encourager. Among other things, she also loves to laugh, watch movies, and prepare healthy, beautiful and delicious food for her loved ones. Most of all, she loves learning, because learning never ends in this life, and it keeps things interesting :)
